I have images that I copied from one computer to another via a CD. Some of the
images cannot be altered, and the message says they’re locked and I must go to
Windows explorer-properties to unlock them. I’m having trouble doing this any
help. Also, is it possible to batch change photos to Tiff in PS7 and not have
two sets of files.

To unlock the files, select the files you want to unlock in windows explorer (Ctrl+A will get all the files in the directory), click the right moust button and select ‘properties’ from the pop-up menu. Uncheck the Read Only box (it may be gray, just click until it’s white), click OK.

For batch changing of files to TIFF use File/Automate, create a droplet, then use Batch to run it (you’re going to have to read up on this feature).

It’s not a good idea to delete the original file until you’re sure the new one is ok.
