Hello…I have a problem I cannot solve.

I am trying to draw shapes (circles, rectangles, etc.), but I can do nothing with them once they are drawn.

For example, I can draw a circle, but when I want to fill the circle with a color, the pointer turns to a cross with a small circle beside it. The small circle also has an "x" inside of it. I only have this problem on shapes.
Also, after I have drawn the shape, the layer still shows nothing being in the layer, where it should show a circle shape.

I have tried ctrl+alt+shift to restore the default settings, but that doesnt work.

What do I do?

Sounds to me like you are creating paths for your shapes. In the shapes toolbar there are three buttons near the left side of the toolbar (assuming CS1 or CS2). Make sure the center one is not pushed. This creates paths. Choose the leftmost of the three and it will create shape layers.
