I would like to save my files with longer names. I’m hoping there is a "permanent" way to make the following setting. I Save for Web, Save, then in the Save Optimized As window I go to the Settings menu, select Other then remove the check from the MAC option. Click OK and I’m good to go. However, I have to do this each time I save a picture and today alone I’ll be working on about 75-80 pictures.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Lynn

then remove the check from the MAC option. Click OK and I’m good to go.

In that screen where you Uncheck the Mac Option, there’s a button for Save – Save those settings and give them a name. Then when you accept that, and actually save the graphic, the Save dialog has a dropdown for Settings. Just click that dropdown and choose the one you just saved.

That’s the answer. You also need to uncheck Unix of course.

Funny though, with me the settings stick.

Maybe your Save for Web preferences are being overwritten.

Funny though, with me the settings stick.

I know that once I saved the "template" and gave it a name, then every use of SFW defaults to those settings. I suspect that if I choose a different setting from the dropdown, that would be sticky too…

Thanks everyone for your help. At one point, the settings did stick for me and now for some reason they don’t. I think John may be correct in that the preferences are being overwritten. I wonder if I should see if there are any upgrades for my program.

Wait. So you’re saying that you saved it as a name? Like in THIS <http://img431.imageshack.us/img431/6032/sfwdialogjj6.jpg> dialog?

I don’t see that entire screen. I don’t have the Save and Load option listed. Am I missing something??!!

YrbkMgr –

Thanks for your help in this matter. If I don’t get back to you right away, it’s because I have a 5:15 pm est meeting then gone for dinner! I’ll try and check in later tonight.
Thanks again!
Lynn
