Mac OS X 10.2.8
CPU: Dual 1Ghz G4
Photoshop 7
"ViewIt" from http://www.hexcat.com/ used to capture images from 1G compact flash card in a Lexar Media Card Reader.

Situation:
Folder with 25 TIFF files from a digital camera. High resolution, 17MB files. Viewing folder window as icons (not list or column) with OS X preview option turned off so the OS previews will not conflict with PS generated previews.

Task: Open each image. Make adjustments. Save as .TIFF with preview thumbnail.

Problem:
Opened three or four images in PS7, images saved with preview ok. After opening fifth image, saved with preview, several of the previous file previews change to the same image as the fifth preview. In essence, somehow one image preview is being pasted onto several other images.

I can’t figure out where the problem is coming from: PS or the OS.

Questions:
1. Is there a preference that can be deleted to clear the problem?

2. Is there some kind of image preview cache within Photoshop that could be storing the previews that could be purged?

3. Is there an image cache in OS X that needs to be purged?

4. Should I reinstall Photoshop?

5. If I need to reinstall, are there any hidden, secret or otherwise unrecognizable files or folders that I need to delete after I delete the program and the Adobe Preferences?

Thank you in advance for any help.

It has nothing to do with Photoshop.
It appears to be a bug in MacOS X.
