When I go to save for web and save the file it is forcing the file name to the same as the .psd file name? I have been using Photoshop for years and have no idea why it is doing this?

Is there a setting that I have accidentally enabled that is causing this or is it a bug?

Scott,

How do you mean "forcing"? Aren’t you allowed to change the file name in the save dialog?

Hi Scott,

Save for Web will always offer the current filename by default. The file type could be different, I.E. jpg gif png etc. If you don’t want to use this name, just change it in the filname box of the save dialogue.

As far as I remember, it’s always been that way.

Bye for now.

Right… I create the file name I want for my slice(s) and then save. But it is not allowing me to speicify. It doesn’t matter what I type in it tries to save it as the Photoshop file name?

Wierd huh?
