I set the options zoom resizes window and zoom with mouse wheel but when i use the mouse wheel it resizes the pic but not the window the pic is in. Is the a simple way to do this.

I like the way Corel Photo shop pro always does it. You use the mouse wheel and the whole picture window gets resized.

Thanks

You can control that in the PS CS2 preferences, but not in earlier versions if I’m remembering correctly. Just enable "Zoom Resizes Window" in the General preferences.

I’ve been looking for ways to do this since I got CS2 a year ago, but I don’t think it works that way…

In CS2, "Zoom Resizes Window" works with the keyboard shortcuts (ctrl + and ctrl -) but not with the scroll wheel. I don’t remember how previous versions worked.

Chris,

That allows resizing the image with the scroll wheel, but the OP want’s to resize the window automatically when zooming with the scroll wheel. That doesn’t work in CS2. The "Zoom Resizes Window" preference option only works with the keyboard shortcuts, the zoom tool, and the context menu you get when you right click on the image while the zoom tool is selected. It doesn’t work when zooming with either the scroll wheel or manually entering the zoom percentage in the box at the lower left corner of the image frame.

That’s really unfortunate…. I’m looking to do exactly the same thing the OP was asking (resizing the window frame while zooming in/out with the mouse). This, plus being able to customize the AdobeCS2 toolbars with any customizable buttons, would make Adobe Photoshop SO much easier to use. Even ancient versions of Paintshop Pro have these features. I can only hope that PhotoshopCS3 might have these features, but me thinks if they couldn’t take care of such small but significant issues by CS2, there’s little hope they’ll have bothered with CS3. *sigh*
