I am considering a notebook and all of my software, including CS2, Illustrator, et are Windows XP. Will they work on a Mac notebook and or PC?

If it’s an Intel Mac you can load Windows through bootcamp or paralells and then install it.

But it won’t work in OSX.

You can do a crossgrade to the Mac version though.
You can use bootcamp or Paralells to run your Windows versions. If you want to wait to CS3.

I just bought CS2 for my new MacPro. I have CS2 running on a PC but am migrating to the Mac. Photoshop was my first software purchase. I downloaded the Mac version of CS2 to the Mac and got a new serial number. During the install, I was prompted to enter a registered serial number, so I entered the PC serial number and it was rejected.

The Apple sales rep told me that all I had to do was by CS2 for the Mac as an upgrade, which is what I did, and any version serial number would work. Alas, it does not. I can’t get through to customer service on the 800 number because of overwhelming calls regarding Adobe Reader and an overhaul of the customer support operation.

What is the correct procedure for crossgrade to the Mac from a PC?

If you want to crossgrade, you’ll need to call Adobe. You’ll be asked to fill out some paperwork attesting to the fact that you’ve destroyed the Windows media and removed it from any computers.

There is a charge but I’m pretty sure it’s nominal.
