This past week, my hard drive became corrupted, and I had to put in a new HD. I tried to get off as many files as possible from my old HD, and was able to do so…..except I keep having problems with Photoshop files, and in fact, the entire program. It appears that some if not all of my Photoshop files may be corrupted, but at the moment, I can’t even access them!

I installed all my programs on the new HD, but then took all the Documents and Settings info and copied them over (and changed them from being "Read Only" to accessable) onto the same drive as the programs. All of them appear to be working fine – even the rest of my Creative Suite files….except Photoshop.

I have Photoshop 8.0, version 5.0, service pack 4, with Windows 2000 operating system. Everytime I start Photoshop, I get the message that I need to put my scratch disk on another drive. I have it on another drive. Every time I go into Edit – Preferences – Plug-ins and Scratch Disks, it allows me to change it at that moment, but has a statement at the bottom of the box that says that it will only remain on those settings until I close down Photoshop. Then, when I try to open a photo or graphic – ANYthing – I get the message "Could not complete your request because the disk is full." When I reinstalled the program, I did a complete removal first, removing everything, including the registration and activation numbers.

I really need to get into this program. Any ideas?
