Do you have the full Creative Suite 2, or just Photoshop CS2? Version Cue isn’t available in the standalone Photoshop.
It means it will be enabled if you have the full suite…
Can’t remember what now, hence my question, but I thought enabling that did something useful even with the stand-alone product.
It certainly does John.
It enables the Adobe "Open" and "Save" dialogues as an alternative to the OS versions.
Enabling Version Cue when you only have PSCS2 rather than the entire CS suite gives you one option you do not otherwise have. When you click the right-pointing arrowhead on the status bar you get an intervening drop down menu with two ungrayed choices: (1) Reveal in Bridge" and (2)"Show". Clicking "Show" then gives you the same drop-down menu of 9 status-bar display options you get directly when Version Cue is NOT enabled. But with it enabled you now may invoke "Reveal in Bridge" which brings up the Bridge Screen showing just where the active file came from— a handy little goodie.
Good points, but the OP was asking about an error message when attempting to create a new Version Cue project. Without the Suite, there is no actual Version Cue (although there are small bits of it), although the menu choice is still there. Thus, you can’t create a VC project.
Michael,
Yes, but John (reply 4) was asking a different question. Threads forever veer from the OP’s inquiry.
George
At least it’s all about Version Q.
Better than Preparation H.
