Hello,

I am reasonably new to Adobe Photoshop, I am currently running the CS2 version. I wouldn’t say I am an amateur but I certainly aren’t the best.

Basically, I am looking for some help on roughing up some text, or designing numbers. If you look at www.calcrutchlow.com and look at the image at the top left, which says: Cal 35
It looks really effective in that font and style.
I am wondering if anybody can help me with that effect using my name (Robbie and number 43)

If anybody can help that would be fantastic.

I look foward to your replys

Regards

It may not be the "Photoshop" way but it is the way "Granny" would do it…. Draw it on paper.. Scan it into photoshop… Tweak it..

There are a gazillion tutorials online that will show you how to create all different kinds of distressed text effects. Have a go at finding one that works for you.

Here’s a start, using the Google search string of Photoshop tutorial distressed text effect < http://www.google.com/search?q=Photoshop+tutorial+distressed +text+effect&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:e n-US:official&client=firefox-a>

You can replace "distressed" with "grunge" "eroded" "dirty" "distorted" or any number of other descriptive synonyms. You could also try "type" instead of "text"

Google is your bestest pal in situations like this!
