need an action to read and paste 170 names over an image

Hello,

I have an image and I need to write 170 names on a fixed spot of the image, and save it as 170 different file names. I was wondering if an action could help with this process. Can an action read the names from a txt file and write them on the image on a specific coordinate? Also then save the image with the same name as the text it just read?

Is there a better way of doing this?

Is it the same image, but with a different name?

If so, why bother with an action? Just open the image, type name 1, Save As (filename1.ext), click to edit the text, type name 2, Save As (filename2.ext). Rinse and repeat.

I reckon four a minute? Should be done well within the hour.

If, on the other hand , this was a task you’d be undertaking week afer week…

If yes and youu have a list in Word or something:

Place the image on a master page in ID, put a text box in the appropriate spot

Make a 170 page long document, import the text in the text boxes

I don’t have an answer, but a similar question. I want to make up a gift certificate for a client. I need to import data onto this gift certificate image…. To: From: Message etc.

How do I do this in Photoshop??

You don’t. Create your image and bring it into something that can use a mail merge feature, like MS Pub (ugh) or something.

I will search for data-driven. I want it to be data driven because I don’t want to make mistakes on the names, and it could be very tedeious.
