Anything out there on changing a black and white picture to a color picture using photoshop CS2? Would like any help on how to, or where to look.
Thanks Joe

Joe:

You should really start your own thread instead of hi-jacking someone elses. Google "Hand Colouring in Photoshop".

SM:

This is the method I use for our studio work when, for instance, a chest or shoulder is paler than the face:
..

..
* Make a selection of the offending area.
* Feather by 10 pixels or so.
* Create a "Curves" Adjustment Layer (the layer mask will be based upon your active selection)
* Choose the Green channel from the drop-down.
* Grab the "highlight" end of the curve and drag it until the pale skin becomes distinctively magenta.
* Then switch to the Blue channel and drag the highlight end of the curve, introducing yellow which will counter the magenta to produce a tanned skin tone.
* Tweak both to remove any residual cast and achieve a perfect match.

You can then paint on the mask as necessary to locally adjust the new skin tone.

Hope this helps.

Chris.
