Can anyone help me stop the image scrolling of the work area when I use the Rectangular Marquee Tool on an image in ‘Full screen mode with menu’ mode? I’m using CS2 and this did not happen in Photoshop 7. Maybe it’s because I have a different mouse now. I’m using a Logitech G5 Lazer mouse.

I’ve heard many people complaining about this. Is this normal in CS2?

No it’s not your mouse. Apparently it’s the same bit a code that has been passed down through several versions of the program without being adjusted to take account of faster procesor speeds.

Hopefully this will be addressed in CS3. Meanwhile a work-around is to "maximize" the image window instead of using "full screen" mode.

As annoying as it is, you can get the image back on screen by tempoarily changing your cursor into the Hand tool by holding the space bar.

Hope this helps.

chrisjbirchall ………thankyou very much for your reply and sorry for double posting. This forum is difficult to use for a beginner.

The tip on using the space bar to change the cursor into a hand tool is a great tip. I also go another good tip. In general preferrences select "Zoom with scroll wheel". This allows me to use any mode I like and I don’t have a problem any more because I can instantly zoom out to a smaller size image and carry out any rectangular marquee adjustments I have to make without hitting the edge of the work area and making the image fly off in all directions.

Please Mr. Photoshop Man , give us a fix we can download to fix the problem, or an update to v9.0.3.

thanks again.
