Can any Photoshop tech. experts out there explain this image I linked below? How does the gradient loose the pixels in the PDF, and how does this relate to printing (eg. when the Photoshop help menu says "If an image includes vector graphics, such as shapes and type, Photoshop can send the vector data to a PostScript printer.")
In other words, it looks like the gradient (Layer Effect>Gradient Overlay) is not tied to the image resolution of the original PSD, and so, now that it is in the PDF, the pixels seem to be gone. What is this PDF holding this as, and if I save a 72ppi doc as a PDF and then send it to be printed at a larger size (bigger physical dimensions), can the vector data (text, shapes) be sent to a postscipt printer and be re-interpreted for that bigger size, and how will the gradient work out for that?
