Do I need to convert to CMYK before bringing JPGs to print shop?

Hi, I would like to know if I should convert my JPGs to CMYK before I bring them to the photo lab or leave them in RGB and embed the RGB 1998 profile?

Leave them as RGB.

Most Photo labs use the sRGB colour profile, but all it takes is a phone call to confirm this with your chosen lab.

Commercial printers (as opposed to photographic laboratories) use CMYK. However, resist any requests to supply your images in this format. Each printer will have his own "flavour" of CMYK so let him do the conversion. Otherwise guess who’s going to get the blame when the colours aren’t right?!

Also, check with the print shop to see if they want JPG. Most shops prefer other formats, such as TIFF.
