When will there be a Photoshop CS3?

As I want to update my "old" Photoshop CS (1) to a new version: is it a good time to do it now?

CS2 is getting also getting older now…. will there be a CS3 soon, so it is better to wait some weeks or will it least some more months until a new version will be available?

I now, that any answer will have the status of a rumor, but it would help me anyway.

Adobe announced CS3 for the second quarter of 07 last March. Nothing’s changed since then.

Historically, Photoshop runs about an 18 month release cycle. If anything might delay that schedule, it would probably be integrating the former Macromedia products into the CS suite.

It’s already been over 18 months and there has been an official Adobe announcement for the 2nd quarter of next year made by Bruce Chizen last spring.

A new OS from MS and a new OS from Mac, 64 bit processing, stuff due early in ‘007 means, at a guess, that it will be a while after the OSs settle in.
