I have installed CS2 on a new pc with 472 GB of available space, but when I try to launch the application I get the following message:
"There is not enough disk space to start your application. Please delete some files from your computer and try again".
When I click OK, CS2 shuts down. Any ideas?

A bit more info on your system may be useful.

What OS you have for example.

with 472 GB of available space,

And where that space is: C drive, or somewhere else.

Thanks for the feedback. The operating system is Windows XP and it has a 500 GB hard drive (C). I was able to activate CS2, but when I try to launch the program, I get the error message. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try resetting your preferences per the procedure in the faq.

I just tried that, but it didn’t make a difference.

How did you reset your preferences?

Manually? If so which files did you delete?

Or with the key combination? If so did you get a dialog box?

The point that John is making is that resetting your preferences can be tricky. Exactly how you did it helps us understand if you really reset them or just think that you did. If you used a key combiniation, if you didn’t get a dialog box asking you if you’re sure, you did not reset them.

I used the key combination and did get the dialogue box. When CS2 acted as if it was going to launch, I got the error message again and the program closed itself. I rebooted the pc and started CS2 again, but got the same message. I appreciate you all trying to help.
Thanks … John

In your shoes I would probably try a reinstall.

John,

Before going the uninstall/re-install loop. try deleting your prefs as per the Forum FAQ *but* delete the entire contents of the Adobe Photoshop Settings folder.

Everything within that folder will be automatically re-built as required, so ther is no problem in doing so other than having to re-do all your preferences, colour settings etc.
