When trying to start help, I get the following error:

ahc.exe The instruction at "0x00864a4d" reference memory at "0x01330b08".The memory could not be "written". Click OK to terminate the program.

The help file is in the Help Center Data folder, so is ahc.exe. I tried executing the file and got the same error. I tried putting the disc in and repairing PS, when it got to installing shared files, I got the error again.

I then tried uninstalling PS CS2, when it got to the same place, uninstalling shared files, I got the error.

Then I tried reinstalling PS CS2 and when it got to the same place, installing shared files, I got the error again.

Everything else in PS CS2 works fine.

What do I need to do to fix this?

I’m having the same problem exactly, so you’re not alone. But I don’t know how to fix it.

Someone on Geeks to Go suggested I try uninstalling it in Safe Mode. The system won’t let me do that, either.

It seems to me that if we’re both having this problem, then we’re not alone. I sure hope someone figures out how to fix it. I’m about to format my HD and start all over. I’m really dreading that.

If you find out, let me know, and I’ll do the same.

I looked up the help center in the knowlage base, and this one popped up: <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/332006.html>

I dunno if it will help with your problem, but it *looks* like it reinstalls the help center entirely.

Thanks for trying, Mousewrites. I just tried everything the link says, and got the same problem. I’m about to format my HD if I can’t solve this problem. I just don’t know what to do.

I appreciate you trying to help me.

Robyn, a guy at "Geeks to Go" fixed it. Just delete the entire Help Center folder, put your PS CS2 disk in and choose Repair when reinstalling. It worked like a charm.

Thanks for letting me know Loyce, and thanks to Geeks to Go for finding a fix!
