I’ve just begun using CS2 9.0.2 in XP on a 2GHz pc with a fast video card and 1Gb of ram. Currently, typical opening time for a 23Mb TIFF (with CS2 already launched, and no other apps running) is 70 seconds! I’ve tried saving the TIFF compressed to see if that made any difference, but a 3Mb compressed version of the same TIFF takes 70 secs to open too.
As my previous experience of using PhotoShop is v5 in classic on a 400MHz mac (a similar sized TIFF would take around 2-3 seconds to load there) I’m not sure whether this CS2 behaviour is normal or not. Please could anyone reading this let me know if this is a normal load time for a TIFF of that size?
I’m going to try the suggestions for dodgy fonts and see if that’s the issue, but any comments would be appreciated.
