Liquify WILL NOT work.

Hi everyone. I’ve read the FAQ, and read a bunch of responses to this question and I still can’t get the liquify filter to work. I’m using XP Pro, Photoshop CS2 9.0, 100 gig hd (50 gigs free) and one gig ram. I’ve deleted everything below "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.UPSTAIRS\Local Settings", I’m logged on as admin (there are no other users – guest is turned off), I restarted Photoshop using ctrl-alt-shift, deleted my prefs, reset all my tools just for fun, did a "repair" re-install of Photoshop, and guess what – it still don’t work. All of the other filters seem to be working, I looked in "help>About Plug-In" and it shows the Adobe splash screen, I went to it’s location and it exists in the right place. Does anyone have any more tricks I can try? Help, por favor.

So…what happens when it doesn’t work?

Is it greyed out, does the application quit, etc…

Ahh – forgot details, sorry. What it does is open the editing window per normal, all appropriate things are lit-up and clickable, but when you click warp forward, for example, and move into the image area, the cursor turns into a crosshair and applies no effect when you click/drag it. The only thing that works is the magnifying glass. I’m stumped.

* What size brush are you using?

* Have you tried on more than one image? Test on a simple image with no layer masks etc.

* Have you got a Wacom pen lying near its tablet whilst using the mouse?

F’ing cool! You got it. I had the brush size at 2 (maybe that’s default after dumping prefs?)Post mortum:I tried on numerous images (all different) and I don’t use a Wacom pen. Thanks for making me use common sense.

Another "banana skin" to watch out for is that when you use "Reset" (holding Alt whilst clicking the Close button) everything in the Liquify dialogue will be reset. So check that "pen pressure", "show mask", etc., are put back to the way you are used to having them set.
