I have an Intel Celeron 694MHz processor. Would Adobe Photoshop CS2 install and run properly on my computer?

Hi Alvaro,
PS CS2 will install and run ok and you will be able to learn how to effectively use all of its features. But you will not be able to be productive or use many of its features in a way that is most effective. So if you are a student or your goal is to learn Photoshop then you will be fine. If you are starting a small business that will depend on you meeting deadlines then you will be in trouble.

Good luck,
Ron

I hope you have at least 1 gb of ram. Less than that and CS2 will be ugly with such a slow, old processor (Yes, I remember 6mhz 286 processors). And a second physical hard drive to use for scratch files. CS2 will work but it will be a bit poky. I have run CS1 with an 800 mHx processor but CS1 is not as demanding as CS2.
One problem is that Bridge is a second program that demands a boat load of ram and system resources and the way CS2 is written you generally have it open simultaneously with CS2. If you can keep Bridge closed as much as possible your system will work faster in CS2.
Try to limit open files to 30mbs or less.

It will install and function but may well be somewhat slower that you will be happy with

I think that’s a p3 class processor and as such should be supported, but like len said, you may be very dissapointed in the performance.

And we haven’t even touched on how much RAM is on that machine.

I ran PSCS2 for quite a while on a 733 MHz P3 machine, first with 512 MB of RAM, later with 768 MB. It was slow and clunky when using most filters (smart sharpen required more than one cup of coffee), and when saving large, multilayer files, and when using brush tools, but for normal photo work it worked okay (much better with 768 MB than 512, by the way). Now that’s behind me; I’ve upgraded to a dramatically better computer, and even the slowest filters are pretty snappy.
