Software: Photoshop CS2 9.0.2
OS: Windows XP

After I made an ‘action’ in PS I made a ‘droplet’, but it isn’t working. It starts up Photoshop but then does nothing…

I downloaded some premade ‘droplets’ from a website to check if I was doing something wrong, but that didn’t seem to be te case.

I also tried the droplet-fixer (registry), but it says ‘no errors found’. Could this be a security issue? Any suggestions?

How did you get to CS2?
* Upgraded from PS7
* Upgraded from CS. If you went this route did droplets work in CS? Did you upgrade to CS from PS7? * Installed full version of CS2. Did not upgrade.

From PS7 upgraded to CS then upgraded to CS2 (Premium?).

As was pointed out in that thread Pascal, there are two key issues to bear in mind.

* Droplets in Photoshop are unreliable – meaning they work for some people, some times, but there’s a flake in them that we have yet to understand which causes symptoms as you describe.

* Using droplets is usually no more efficient than using Batch operations. Since batch operations are more reliable, you are almost always better off using them instead.

Your mileage may vary.

Pascal:

Many (but definitely not all) people who upgraded to CS or CS2 from PS7 reported losing droplet functionality. This was due to incorrect settings made in the Windows’ Registry upon installation.

The only workaround I know of is the registry fix in the FAQ forum that you tried. It works for some people, but not all. I do not know why.

If you install the CS or CS2 upgrades on a "new" PC (no previous version of Photoshop installed) droplets seem to work fine.

I wish I had better news.

Finally, you may not have seen or tried this:

Good luck.
