if it worked without locking up my version of CS2…….i’d be tickled to death with it!

I’ve updated & re-installed almost a dozen times….and it still crashes!

Nice piece of equipment but it takes some getting use to. I don’t have one but it a love it hate thing. I’ve seen it demoed and played around with it a bit and liked it for InDesign.

Fortunatly I convinced work to buy one and have me test it. If I like it I’ll buy one for home use (and work will inflect them on my coworkers…)

The only thing I have found with devices like that, the ergonomic keyboards, and other customized pointing devices is that once you get used to them, going to another computer is quite uncomfortable.

Actually, it’s damn near painful.

I’ve got a MS Natural Multimedia Keyboard and I can’t stand no having it when I use a different machine.

Yeah, my experience too Bob – my father in-law has that keyboard and he can’t type on another anymore. I’ve seen folk who use a pen but are really annoyed when they have to use a mouse.

I had to buy another Marble mouse (1 home, 1 office). Every time one of my students uses it for a while, they want one…then I break out the Wacom and they never want to "drive the bus" (use the mouse) again…

Disabled student services hates me as once a student with a disability uses the Wacom they get yet another student wanting to check their one tablet out for the entire semester…

Bad thing about the Microsoft Natural keyboard is that it totally ruins you when you have to type on a Mac.

It’ll work on a Mac if you get the USB version. I don’t know what happens if you use a PS/2 to USB converter on a Mac, but I had to use it on my machine which has no legacy ports at all.

I hear you. If I do like this, I’ll have to get one for home, otherwise my hands will be reaching far before my brain catches up.

Just a word to the wise: Newegg.com sells "OEM" versions of Microsoft keyboards that cost maybe half the regular price. I got a couple of MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000s for a very good price, in brown boxes instead of colorful retail boxes. This one is particularly good, because while it has silly special commands on top of the F1..12 keys, like all the fancy-schmancy keyboards, this one (unlike most) has an "F Lock" button that doesn’t reset to the silly commands on reboot. Some of the keyboards have more space taken up with "multimedia keys" that are useless to me than with the keyboard itself.

Bob,
I’d have to buy 6 of them for each different classroom I teach in…and without tethering them they would probably disappear in about 15 minutes…we lose about 6-7 two button mice a semester…students trading up the hockey pucks.

Hmm, and there was me thinking that they were born with legs 😉

We’ve already lost 2 Wacom tablets…now students have to leave their car keys, credit card or driver’s license to check one out (we used to only require a signature and student id)…and they can’t leave campus any more.
