Is there any way to email a picture in a thumbnail so the person receiving it just clicks on the thumbnail to see it in its original size so the downloading time is a lot less. Also when I send a picture it sends it as an attachment and in view with the email body itself. Can it only be sent as an attachment without displaying in the email body also.

No. that is not possible. When you see thumbnails on the web that "expand" to a larger size when clicked on you are just seeing the thumbnail link to another web page with the image on it.

The way images are viewed in e-mails is determined by your e-mail settings and the recipient’s settings. Check your settings. You may want to turn off HTML for instance.

You can upload your images to <http://www.pixentral.com> and then paste the resulting HTML into your email.

If they are going to be able to see the full size pictures on their computer you have to send them to them.

To avoid them being visible you could put them in a zip file.

Most people who don’t have their own web space put their pictures on a web site that hosts albums – check with your ISP, they probably offer that service.

Note that even if you link to a web server with the pics they are probably not going to download any faster.

I think the OP was referring to the download time of the email.

There is also the matter of some ISPs blocking large attachments. We never attach pictures to emails any more for this very reason – even when sending clients screen resolution proofs, all they get is a link
