Hi,

i was wondering is it possible to change the flow rate / opacity of a an Airbrush with The normal mouse wheel?

already turned on Flow Jitter in the Brushes palette, but the mouse wheel button still only ZOOMS in/out of the canvas when i use it.

how can i remap it? to try and emulate something like the wheel on the AirBrush Pen of WACOM tablets

No, it’s not possible.

You need a pressure sensitive tablet.

Speaking of tablets, do Adobe’s graphic gurus have any
preferred brands/models these days?
