RE: Small area contrast reduction with different colours

Good afternoon all, I’m using Photoshop 7. I have this print of my work which for some reason the transparency shows the small patch of red/pink/yellow in the foreground as very bright which it certainly wasn’t in the painting.
Can anyone suggest a way to reduce this area in contrast so it matches the rest of the foreground please. I’ve tried magic wand with levels and with curves but with no success.

Bryan, the Sponge tool in Desaturate mode does what I think you want to do.
