Is there a way I can take a folder filled with pictures and have them all resized at once? I thought there was a way to do this but I searched Photoshop and the Bridge and couldn’t find anything.
If I can’t do this in Photoshop/Bridge, are there any other programs I could use?

Thanks very much.

You can use the image processor (CS2)

You may be able to do it in Bridge (which I don’t use, so I’ll let other comment)

You can record an action and run it as a batch

Start by checking out the help file.

Come back here if there is a specific step that’s causing you problems.

(Since I only have CS, I can only help if you choose to use a batch action, I’m sure others will answer specific questions if you decide to use the Image Processor or Bridge)

Since you have Bridge, you have CS2, and thus you have the Image Processor. In Bridge, go to the folder you want to resize. Select the images you want to resize (Control+A will select all). Click Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor. Set the Image Processor dialog to save in same location (it will actually create a subdirectory in that location rather than writing over your files), pick the type of image file you want to save (e.g., JPEG), and check "Resize to fit," and then tell it the maximum width and height in pixels. If you are converting to JPEG for the Web or email, or for sending to an online printing service that expects sRGB images — and if your images are another profile — check the box for converting to sRGB. Whether to check the box about including the profile depends on how the images will be used (it will increase the file size a bit). Click "Run".

Thank Russell Preston Brown of Adobe. He developed what is now the Image Processor as a script for CS called "Dr. Brown’s Image Processor." Go to <http://www.russellbrown.com> for lots of good tips, add-ons, videos, etc.
