I have Windows Vista Ultimate RTM and Photoshop CS2. I do a lot of photographic work with Photoshop. I have noticed that after upgrading to Vista, my color space in Photoshop CS2 works just like it did in XP, but if I happen to view a JPG file using Microsoft Picture Manager, Photo Viewer, or any other viewer than Photoshop CS2, my photographs look way over exposed. I’ve recalibrated my gamma settings for the monitor. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem? It is the weirdest thing I’ve seen–photos that look perfect in PS look so different when just viewed by anything other than.

I sometimes like to print multiple 4 x 6 prints on a page, and this is a bit easier using the HP Photosmart engine or the Operating System’s built-in photo printing ability. It bugs me that everything was fine before but now it is not. Hope it is not the Aero graphical enhancements from MS.

Thanks for any suggestions!

What I would like to know is how you manage to use CS2 under Vista. I have two monitor calibration devices neither of which have Vista drivers or will work with XP drivers in Vista. My printers’ XP drivers work but incompletely. Hence CS2 is totally unusable for me under Vista. The vendors, now just two months prior to wide release of Vista, are non-committal about supporting Vista, at least in their e-mail replies to my queries. This suggests that drivers will not be forthcoming until months after Vista is released.
There are other serious issues with Vista but that gets off topic.

Well, I don’t know what to tell you. I upgraded XP Professional to Vista Ultimate. Adobe Photoshop CS2 was already installed prior to the upgrade, and MS Vista Advisor had no warnings about any of my Adobe software "except" the Gamma Loader". My Photoshop CS2 works very well on Vista as does Bridge, Illustrator, and InDesign.

I’m running a HP Pavillion M7334N with AMD x2 Dual Core 3800+ and ATI ATI Express 200. graphics card, which is not all that good BTW (for gaming). This system cranks along fine but I don’t like the variance between OS drivers and vendor-specific drivers. I’m using a Dell P1130 21" CRT monitor that is fully calibrated.
