How do I ‘cut out’ a circle from multiple photos?

Hi there, I’m totally new to Photoshop and I suspect my question is a very basic one! But I can’t seem to work it out on my own….

I want to cut out a perfect circle from a number of photos and save them as individual jpegs so that I can paste them into a word document.

I can use the eclipse tool – but don’t know what to do from there.

Hoping for some guidance!

Use the Elliptical Marquee tool

In the Options bar at the top, select Fixed Size and put in the dimension you want (Width = Height).

Draw the circle on your image where you want it; press Ctrl+J to put the selection on a new layer. Make a new empty image (Ctrl+N) of the size you want, using the resolution of your original, and drag the circle layer from the original into the new image. (Use the layers Palette.)

Thank you very much John. I couldn’t see the ‘options’ bar and ‘fixed size’selections for some reason, but I was able to make the rest of it work. I’ve decided the pics don’t have to be an exact match….Thanks again

Maybe you have an earlier version of Photoshop. It’s at the top, under the menus, if it’s there.
