Hi all,

I just installed PS CS 2. Works like my previous version except for one weird thing. It will not import the clipboard. If I make a print screen I can not paste it into PS. In older versions that worked just fine.

The print screen is working since I can paste into Word.

How do I fix this?

Thanks!

Is this text that you are trying to paste? If so, the Type tool needs to be active first.

In photoshop: click on your file so that the type cursor blinks, then paste).

Ah, sorry. I’m not trying to past text. I was trying to paste a print screen, a bitmap. I was just using Word to test if the print screen option was working.

It just works for me. I simply open a new document (if none are open already) and press Ctrl-V, works fine. I realise this doesn’t help you to discover why yours doesn’t work but at least you can be sure that it *should* work.

Try this and let me know if OK.

load PS
do screen print in other program
in PS do:-
file/new
set name to whatever u want
ensure preset box = clipboard
click OK button
in the edit menu u will see that paste has become available.

The trouble is M$ office and Photoshop both do their own things with the clipboard.

Try Edit > Purge > Clipboard in Photoshop and clear the Windows clipboard before you start.

I have this same problem except it happens for all applications. Trying to copy any graphics (raster or vector) from Illustrator or InDesign does not work. However copying and pasting between all other programs works fine, just cant past into PS.

Also have the same problem with Print Screen not pasting into PS.

Also, this problem has only cropped up recently as I was able to do this in the past with no problems.

If something USED to work but no longer does, that is a major clue to reset your Preferences.
