I am unable to obtain a CS3 beta serial number using my CS2 serial number. Are registered educational versions excluded from the beta download?

Apparently not…. but I’m having problems too! I have a suspicion that they are looking for a PS CS2 licence number… I have a CS2 licence number that isn’t being recognised.

Remember that the number in the CS2 version display is not a complete number. You must get the number from your jewel case or from your account info.

I have the correct serial number (24 number in groups of four and hyphenated).

The link that states who is eligibile (basically everone with CS2) was posted on the Roger Galbraith site

I was told by Adobe Tech Support that no one is able to access a CS3 serial as yet. I was referred to blogs.adobe.com/jnack/ for further clarification. Educational versions are eligible but all will have to wait for some unknown time.

On other forums and on Digg there are users who could register and some who couldn’t. Of those who couldn’t (like me) we have valid CS2 serial numbers that are registered with Adobe (MY ACCOUNTS / REGISTERED PRODUCTS). When I call Tech Support at 9:50 am PST they had no answers and discouraged others from calling for that reason.

I’m seeing this problem. When CS3 opens, I’m given a screen with two options:

1)I have a valid serial number for this product

2) Continue Trial

If I enter my valid CS2 serial number, it is rejected. If I "Continue Trial" I’m told that I have 2 days left.

Nick,

There’s a page over at Labs where you have to enter your CS2 serial and then it spits out a new serial for CS3 (I think).

As stated above and repeated here it works if you…

For those of us who can’t read (me included) if you got a bad serial number reply after downloading CS3 and installing here is what I did wrong. The serial number you enter from the CS3 startup is the CS3 serial number not the CS2 serial number. You need to go to www.adobe.com/go/photoshopcs3beta_serialnumber and enter your CS2 serial number. It will then provide the CS3 serial number that you will enter when starting the CS3 program registration. Mea culpa and I hope this fixes any confusion others have had with the bad serial number. PS when you enter the serial number in the program you should get a green check mark, not a red "X" upon entering the last number.

soooo…no one is sharing their serial? Mac users posted one within minutes, yet nothing from windows users? It’s just a beta. If it were retail I’d understand.

The whole shebang didn’t go live until noon PST (many people worked overnight to solve some latebreaking problems).

Had a hard time finding the CS3 download, but once that was done no problems getting the CS3 serial number.

I do find it funny that now the Mac has the bloated software. The beta for Windows CS3 is half the size of the Mac one. Who has bloatware bloatware, you have bloatware bloatware. 🙂

The beta for Windows CS3 is half the size of the Mac one.

That would be because the Mac version has to support both kind of processors.

It seems to be hit or miss on getting a cs3 sn – it tells me that my sn is not eligible for the download. Since I just bought it last month from the adobe store I KNOW its valid. 😀
I’ve tried re-entering it, also did a copy/paste directly from my registration/account page at adobe and no luck so far.

Carolyn, if you go to the CS3 Beta forums, you’ll see that Adobe is aware of the problem and that they’re hopeful of getting it fixed today.
