I am migrating to a new computer and have found all my settings and preferences files to move to the new machine except all my custom print settings that store a named set of choices for paper type, paper size, page layout, etc. I have about twenty of these defined on two different Epson printers and would really like to find them.

Can anyone provide the name and location of this file?

Thank you,
Jim

I wasn’t aware that you could save custom print settings?

I know you can save proof settings, to allow you to select various media profiles, and save them – these are saved in:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Color\Proofing

(Note that the Application Data folder is a hidden folder, and you’ll need to turn on "view hidden files and folders" in Windows.)

It might pay to just copy everything under:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe

Klaas,

Thanks for the reply. I did copy everything in the application data folder, but these custom print settings did not come along. You set these in the Page Setup Properties Box where you see Paper and Quality Options. Further down you see a "Save Setting" button that does what I’m talking about.

Thanks,
Jim

Ah, now I see what you mean – these are printer settings, not Photoshop settings.

I have an Espon 1290, and only have one or two custom settings save, but they are stored in

C:\Program Files\EPSON\EPSON Stylus Photo 1290\E_DD02JE.UCF

Your actual filenames may differ, depending on the model of the printer(s), but so long as you save the UCF files, you should be right.

Klaas,

You were right, thank you. I had looked at these files earlier, but didn’t copy them over since I couldn’t confirm what they were.

Thanks again…all is well in Photoshop/Epson land!
