I suppose if you HAVE to spend $1,000 I’d agree with Shawn, but it really isn’t necessary to spend that much.
Take a look at the Canon Pixma 9500 & 9500Pro when it comes out. You might also take a look at:-
http://www.digital-photography.org/printer_product_reviews_p rice_comparisons_ratings_evaluations/Canon_PIXMA_Pro9000_Pro 9500_inkjet_printers.php another write up at:-
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2006_reviews/canon_pro9000.ht ml This one refers to the 9000 which goes for around $450. Haven’t seen the prices for the newer models, but doubt that
they’ll be as high as $1,000. By the way I have no axe to grind, don’t have any association with Canon or anyone who
sells Canon, just good results.

Up to approx. $1,000 – Photo quality, not sure about the differences between the different inks – would appreciate an explanation. Thank you.
Epson is really the only game in town for pro quality for your price range. The specific printer model to get depends on your specific needs. Check http://www.epson.com to see what’s available.
