I have an eps file of a logo on a transparent background, the logo is black, and I want to change it to PANTONE 877c and still have the transparent background… i have read some posts that suggest to do the following:
* add new layer
* fill with desired color
* Lighten, screen, linear dodge from drop down menu under the layers tab on the toolbar that has layers, channels, paths

When I do this, it makes the whole canvas silver and then when I use blending tools as instructed, you can see the logo again and it appears a very light silver with the backgroung as the darker PANTONE 877. I am an incredibly frustrated beginner…somebody please help me !!!!!!!!

My guess is that the EPS file in question is a vector EPS file saved in Illustrator, Freehand, or CorelDRAW.

Open it there and change the color.

Thanks Bob. I didn’t create the image and don’t have the other programs. Any way to do it in photoshop?

Email it to me, and if it is indeed a vector EPS, I’ll change the black to 877 for you.

Click on my name, go to my website and you’ll find contact info there.

On its way back to you. Do not try to open it in Photoshop or it will be converted to CMYK or RGB.
