I want to create some dotted lines in Photoshop that follow paths. I can do this using the brush ‘Spacing’ for a simple dash and gap, but what about something a bit more complex – like long dash, gap, short dash, gap – that usually would be set up with Illustrator.

Is it possible in Photoshop?
I’ve tried stroking a path twice with two different shaped brushes, and that seems to be the right ‘way’, but I can’t get it to work exactly.

Any help much appreciated.

set the spacing on a brush and make a path… stroke with the spaced brush…

That’s OK for evenly spaced dashes or dots, Dave, But getting something like:

— — — — — — — — — — —

is a lot more difficult to do in Photoshop. Illustrator is the way to go here.
