I have the academic CS2 program and when I click on "Help" only my Adobe Premier 2.0 help comes up. It does not let me access my CS2 help. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Don

Along those lines, when I try to bring up CS2 help, I get Elements 5 help, which I had on my computer prior to going to CS2. So maybe the assistance will help me establish how to bring up CS2 help as well. Thanks in advance,
Cecil

Cecil,
I left my old Adobe Elements 4.0 on my computer when I installed the CS2 on it. When I would go to pull up the Help menu I would get the Elements help but not the CS2 help. I then unistalled my Elements program and now I get no help at all..

Strange, I have Elements 4.0 and left it on when I installed Elements 5. I was about to uninstall 4 and 5 but will hold off on doing that since you said you are now left without any help file. Maybe someone has a solution. Thanks for giving me the heads up.

Why not take a look at the FAQs?

I did what the above links asked me to. Nothing appeared in my "help" area. I am wondering if the Academic version of CS2 has no help available. I would think it would but now I am not sure.
Thanks,
Don

Everything I have tried that the Adobe Help Center told me to do is not working. It seems as though it is not recognizing that I have CS2 on my computer. Should I uninstall it and then reinstall it?
Thanks,
Don

Don, try uninstalling Photoshop (do not delete shared files) and reinstalling it (this won’t affect your preferences, actions, plugins, etc.). (I would first deactivate, just in case. I think the menu item for doing this is called Transfer Activation, or something like that.) Then download and manually apply all of the updates, including the update to the help center, carefully following the directions. The updates for Bridge are not included in the Adobe site’s Photoshop download section (or at least didn’t used to be); you may need to look under Bridge or Creative Suite 2 to find them. After doing all of the updates, open Photoshop. If you deactivated, you will need to reactivate; if you didn’t deactivate, you may be lucky and not need to reactivate. Once Photoshop opens, run the built-in updater in both Photoshop and Bridge, just to be sure you have everything. Now, finally, check Help.

Don,

First things first. Is the Photoshop_9.0_en-us.zip file in the Adobe Help Center\AdobeHelpData\Packages folder?

Len,
No it was not. I followed the instructions about deleting everything etc. but could not get it to work. I did some searching and found the file you have listed above but it was way back in the root file and I never had looked there before. I copied and pasted it to the "packages" folder and then started up my CS2 and I saw it loading up the above file you listed and then I tried my help and it was there.

I can tell, Len, by your above statement, "First things first", you were about to set out on a journey to walk me through whatever it would take to fix my problem and I really do appreciate that. Now days finding people that are really willing to help others is not easy so when I say I appreciate your help I am serious, thank you….

Don,

Good to hear you finally have it sorted, and you’re very welcome to any help I’ve been able to give.

Len:

My thanks also. I ran into the same problem Don did, having Elements 5.0 installed and then installing Photoshop 7 and updating to CS2. I install, or try to install, most of my apps in other than the C: drive. I was a little annoyed that I couldn’t find a way to post a trouble report to Adobe and it was 3 a.m. when I happened into the Forum and found your reply. It solved my problem.

Is this a know installation problem?

Tom,

Is this a know installation problem?<<

There have been a few reports recently of folks with Elements installed then installing CS2 and not having a functional Help for Photoshop. In each of those cases it does appear that the PSCS2
Photoshop_9.0_en-us.zip has not made it to the AdobeHelpData\packages folder.

Len,
And that is exactly what my problem was but you pointing it out to me solved it. Thanks again Len, Don

PS. Glad it helped you too Tom…
