I’m doing a project that I’m giving the effect of aged photos to. I’m able to burn the edges and age the photos the way I want. However, I’d like to do a photo album effect, with the four corners tabs. I can’t seem to get the look exactly right. I’ve done searches and gone back through all my books, but no "tricks" or "tips."

Has anyone done this before?
Thanks so much, Keri

If you can get a hold of an old album take a picture if the tabs. (shrug)

Keri,

They sell those "photo corners" at craft stores or scrap booking stores.

I have an old family album that has them also. I could scan one for you if you’d like.

Give me an email or something if you’re interested.

If you look in the Photoshop ‘frames’ actions they do have ‘photo corners’ which gives you the little triangles at the corners. May not be the look you want but not sure if you tried it yet.

I ended up making the corners and it looks pretty good,- if I say so myself. I added an offwhite frame to the image, then cut and burned the edges. Then I aged it a bit with a slight duotone.
Then I drew 4 triangles. After some shadowing and embossing, I placed them on the corners of the photo, enlarged them so as to bring them past the photo edges. Then I played with a light linen texture look to it and, with a little more embossment tweaking, it really looks like an old photo album.
I was looking for an easy effect to add or a plug-in type thing. When it was a fairly simple process just to do it from scratch.
