I’m just told "you do not have enough disk space to start your application"
Well do you? …have enough disk space?
Also. Did you reset the Preferences file (see FAQs) when you did the reinstall?
I have about 6gb left on my c drive, and 50 on my data drive, so that should be more than enough, especially since it was when I first installed photoshop. That’s why I don’t understand why it suddenly wants more now.
The pref file got resat, also tried alt-ctrl-shift when starting, that didn’t help either.
6GB is really almost nothing at all. If your C: drive is more than 80% full you won’t even be able to do your regular defrag!
Windows will claim up to 4GB of that free space for its Virtual Memory, then there is the small matter of all the other volotile TEMP files which are created by almost every application you ever run.
Time for a big clear-out – or a new HD. 🙂
Best of luck with it.
Chris.
the temp files is on another drive, temp dirs gets deleted/purged, so the 6gb is more than enough. my c partition is 10gb (that’s all that is needed).
photoshop have worked fine without any problems since I got it until it out of the blue asked me to active today.
the temp files is on another drive
Some apps have no respect for where the create TEMP files.
temp dirs gets deleted/purged
If a program is terminated prematurely you can be left with orphaned TEMP files. Do a system wide search and delete them all.
Is VM on another drive too? If not, the installer might be seeing far less free space than is being reported.
If you have something like Partition Magic, try increasing the size of C: a little to see if that helps.
I ware a bit too fast in writing before, just didn’t notice it. I didn’t mean temp files is on another driver I meant the swap files is on another drive. (remember kids ; write, read, comprehend, post).
going to see if increasing partition helps, although I’m still confused as to why the program says it now when I hasn’t before considering nothing has changed.
It may have only scraped through the last time. You might only need to free up a little more space.
hmmm, c partition has just been increased by 2gb and still not enough space. Although I might be mistaken, I think I might have found something, there’s a file that I’ve missed when deleting what I could find with ref too photoshop, a product license file B2B86000.dat, I’ve tried to delete it but cant, seems like that file is locked by something and every try to delete the file with unlocking/force killing program have failed.
got it to work, permissions on the file had for some reason gone haywire after some fiddling I finally got the right permssions set up , and windows to learn that they should be that way, so I could delete the file and activate without problems.
I really really hate permissions sometimes….

You have my permission to be angry 🙂
