I know this must be simple and I’ve just had a senior moment but I can’t figure out how to straighten a parallelogram in one transformation. I know how to use skew to do it in two movements but how do you do it in one?

If you aren’t sure what I mean go here
http://www.mathopenref.com/parallelogram.html and drag ONE of the orange dots until you form a rectangle.

Can you shift select the second dot, and then move them in tandem?

Hi Jim,

When you are using the Skew option, hold downt ALT key to do both ends at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Well – ringadingwall by George! I never knew that one.

This is one of the reasons this forum is one of the best Photoshop learning resources on the net.

This group came through again.

Don’s answer is exactly what I was looking for (and what I’d known previously and forgotten). But, George’s was interesting too. If I can just remember it ’til I need it.

Note: Don, I don’t think you need the shift key.

When transforming, always fiddle about with the modifier keys – you never know what you’ll get!

Esc always cancels unwanted reactions.

I usually do my drawing in AI, where you could click on the line between the points to move it. Not sure if that also carries over to PS’s less flexible drawing tools.
