Have you investigated the Image Processor in Bridge?

You can set this to resize each image down to predetermined dimensions (in pixels) which will work on both vertical and horizontal formats.

For what you want, this would work best if you first cropped the image to a 4:6 ratio whilst you are doing your "corrections" in Camera Raw. As you know, this "crop" is non destructive and can be cleared should you wish at a later date to create a print at (say) 4:5 ratio.

The Image Processor is one of Bridge’s finest assets. You can save the files as TIFF, PSD or Jpeg, and you can even get it to run an action on the image (say, to sharpen or add a copyright notice) as it processes the images.

Hope this helps.

Chris.

Thank you Chris,
I tried it and it works fine, there is thought some pictures that I will like to crop and that is what I was trying to do, but the action seems not to work from camera raw in a batch. I works fine opening the file in Photoshop and running the action but I wanted more authomation. Thank you for the tip.
