I’m using a lot of Photoshop and lately I switched my wired mouse to a wireless mouse and it’s really bad. Has anyone found a good, accurate wireless mouse that will work fine in Photoshop?

My apology if this thread is not totally related to Phothoshop support.

Have you thought about using a Pen and Tablet? For detailed and accurate work it is far superior to a mouse.

Wacom.

Why draw with a bar of soap?

That’s a good idea. But can I have a tablet as well as a mouse? I don’t want to get rid of my mouse because I am doing other things too besides drawing on photoshop.

You can have a tablet on which you can use either a pen or a mouse.

Have a look at the Wacom site.

Hi,

Sure!:) I have a wacom graphire tablet and a Kensington mouse. Both plug into USB so there is no problem. When I work on photos I use the tablet, when I’m programming I use the mouse. It’s not a wireless mouse, it’s a Kensington PocketMouse Pro
(http://www.provantage.com/kensington-72116~7KNST007.htm) which has a very light cord attached to it that you can actually retract into the mouse. I originally bought one for my laptop, but I liked it so much that I got one for my desktop. I use them approximately 14 hours a day and I’ve already killed one but I’ve been using them for 2+ years for all my work. It’s optical, so no mouseballs to clean:)

You can use a conventional mouse (wired or wireless) as well as a Wacom tablet. I didn’t like the Wacom mouse that comes with the tablet. At my home machine I have a Wacom tablet and a Logitech MX1000 wireless laser mouse connected; the Logitech mouse is excellent.

Thanks for all your suggestion. Now, I just have to come up with the money somehow.

Charly,

There are mini-Wacoms at a sub 50 euro price. I bought one to go with my laptop for some on-the-road editing, and I must say, it works just as well (pressure sensitivity, resolution etc.) as the large one on my desk.

And, as said before, it does not interfere with whatever mouse is installed already.

Logitech’s top models are a good choice. They have some gaming mice with superior accuracy.

I’ve got a logitech mx 1000 (laser) that i love. looks like it’s been outmoded though by at least a couple newer mice in their line. hmm… might be time to upgrade. maybe i’ll wait, there’s talk of a g10 that’s supposed to combine the best of the mx and G lines over there…

Ed’s comment (#2) was the best mouse related remark of the year! 🙂

A tablet is only as good as your ability to use it. Frankly, I do better with a mouse which fits my hand, except for the time I had to work a retouch to the pixel level. There I appreciated the resolution of the pen.

Today, my tablet resides in a back drawer somewhere. I had to choose, as my Logitech and the Wacom conflicted. My hand fitted bar of soap won.

We are awash with good ideas, eh?
