I have been resarching colour calibration, dual monitors, Photoshop etc and understand that Photoshop uses the main default monitor profile, regardless of whether I have individually profiled my monitors or not (I am using Monaco Optix XR). This can be seen in Edit/Color Settings/RGB/Monitor RGB – my main Monaco created profile is listed there OK.

I also understand that because my dual monitor setup is not achieved with a dual LUT (lookup table) and my video card is only seen by Windows as one and not two units, that regardless of my individual Monaco profiles or what I have assigned in the Windows Colour Control app I downloaded and installed, Photoshop will still only display according to one main profile when I drag an image over onto my secondary monitor to view it.

However, I did read somehwhere that if I run two video cards in my PC, and run two individual profiles, Photoshop will display the correct profile for its corresponding monitor.

Can anyone verify this, as I am thinking of switching to a twin video card setup and running a large format high end LCD, in additon to my CRT monitor…? I want to be able to check colours etc on the CRT as extra security, but if Photoshop is using my LCD profile for the CRT secondary monitor, there would seem to be no point…
