I started with version 3

I didn’t understand really what it was THAT GOOD for. I got version 4 (at work) started getting used to it. got to know the keyboard shortcuts and LAYERS! The freedom of layers. It was what made me able to do what I was meant to be. I loved version 4! When the company upgraded to version 5, I absconded PS 4 to my house. I couldn’t get used to version 5 at work. I kept ver 4 on my machine. I can’t remember what it was about ver 5 I didn’t like, I think that they changed some of the shortcuts… It really doesn’t matter. Whatever was wrong with version 5, ver. 5.5 made up for it I didn’t have much experience with version 6. VERSION 7, now there was a program. I never needed the Healing brush or the patch tool but the spell checker was a real improvement. Well worth the upgrade fee.
I have been working subcontract since 2002 and haven’t been able to afford PS CS. I’ve been using version 7. Recently, I got a ding on the back of my ver 7 CD. had to reformat my machine and couldn’t reload PS 7. BUMMER!
So, I decided to use it as an excuse to get Adobe CS2. It’s a nightmare. I’m used to being able to open a new layer over a previous layer, select the layer below by holding the crtl key and clicking on the layer below and working on the selection on the layer above. I’m also used to being able to linking various layers by clicking in the "link" window next to the "eye" in the layers palette.
In addition, the program seems to use a lot of recourses. My machine has a 2 gig chip and 1024 megs of ram… It seems to take forever for the program to load..
I HATE having to dump my preferences every time I load the program. That means I have to set’m up again every time I load the program. The stinking bridge does a few tricks, but, unbelieveably as it may seem, I already know how to organize my files.
