Has anyone had error messages that are caused by too many fonts installed in Windows. Is there an optimum number of fonts that should never be exceeded.
I am aware of performance issues associated with too many installed fonts. Thanks :eyeroll:

Look at the resource availability in Windows before you run anything. You’ll see how much memory the fonts are eating. Seems that 200-300 is considered reasonable and you should use a font manager if you want more. IMHO, more than a couple of dozen is an excess for most users.

A couple of users report using a couple thousand fonts with no problem. (ID Awe for one.) The secret (they say) is to create a dedicated partition for your font files…. ID, can you add anything?

oops forgot (and no edit!) but generally what colin said is correct. 2-300 seems to be the general max (without extraordinary measures) before the system seems to start bogging down.
