I’m working an this e-mail flyer and need to include several URLs throughout it. I know that I have to create slices within ImageReady in order to embed URLs – but I’m not sure how to take that image and have it visible within an e-mail (outlook) and still have the URLs embedded into it.

I think I have to save it as HTML but not sure where to go from there. How can i have the images visible within the body of the e-mail if saved this way. New to this aspect of PS/ImageReady as well as implementing it into e-mail, so any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

Links (ie URLs) are a function of the HTML code.

How to send an e-mail so the emmbedded image shows up is beyond me since I insist on receiving plain text e-mails only so I only send that kind, but the info is probably in you e-mail application’s help file.

Best bet is to put the image on a web site, and send email with link to the image. Next best is to attach the image to the email and add the links to the text of your message. Embedding URL in the image seems more complicated, and I’m not sure you will be happy with the result.

You can email HTML pages from Outlook Express. Possibly other programs. I’d do some Google research.

BTW you can’t embed URLs in images. What you can do is have HTML code which refers a click on an image to a URL.

Of course, if the recipient has HTML turned off in their email program, they will not see the page.

Look into the help on Image Maps in Image Ready. This allows your IR HTML code to include links.

I’m working an this e-mail flyer and need to include several URLs throughout it.

So many people have HTML turned OFF in their email program these days, or have it set to "not automatically download images", that it is better to follow John’s advice.

Load it up to your web space and include a "View out Newsletter" link in your email.

Links to your URLs can be created in ImageReady – but a dedicated HTML editor makes the task so much simpler.
