CS2 and CS3 doesn’t see my 3 gigs of ram??

They only see a little over 1700 mbps

How can i get photoshop to see full installed memory??

Assuming you’re running xp pro, search the archives or google "3G switch" and follow the directions.

Other OSes may not see it.

Will enabling the 3G switch change/affect anything else on my system ?

What would be the advantages/disadvantages of doing so ?

Why wasn’t that switch enabled by default?

Richard, I’m not an expert, but I think:

* Yes, I think all aps that can see the memory will be able to access it.

* Uh, more memory available… and not being able to use all the system memory.

* I suppose the Dell guys didn’t want to set it up that way. Also, it may not work all the time with all systems…. For instance, it works fine on one of mine and locks up a second.

because it isn’t (or wasn’t originally) supported by microsoft.
