Well, you’ll have to find and load the font. It might be free, it might not…
Or – have the person that created the .psd rasterize the layer before sending you the file.

When I open a photo(PSD-format), next error message appears: "Some text layers contain fonts that are missingThese layers will need to have the missing fonts replaced before they can be used for vector based output."
After clicking on the textlayer, next message appears:
"The following fonts are missing for the text layer : ZAPFINO." How can I solve this problem(where can I find this missing font) , don’t want font substitution.

I´ve bought the book "Adobe Classroom in a Book" and installed the fonts that were on the CD onto my windows/fonts folder but the fonts i´ve installed aren´t available in PS?

I´ve already restarted PS and even my PC but the fonts aren´t available yet.

Is there a solution for this? I´ve also opened AI to check if the problem continued and got dissapointed again to see that the fonts weren´t available again.

Did you install them via the menu either in the fonts folder or the control panel applet?

Do a search for and delete all instances of adobefnt*.lst (that extension is .LST). Be aware that the list shown in Photoshop is not necessarily in the right order!

If that doesn’t help try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

<http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ef4a07f/1>

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.

This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.

A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

I already deleted the adobefnt.lst file and the Photoshop preferences file but i still have the same problem.

For example in the CD from where i´ve installed the fonts there is a font called AGaramondPro Sembold. While i opened a photo with a text layer with that font, was when i noticed that this font is missing in PS while it is in the windows fonts folder.

I also noticed that fonts that i installed from the CD are available in PS but others like the one i mentioned aren´t available.

Very strange how PS can´t display these fonts…

You may have missed the fact that there is a second window to the right of the font list where the font styles for the various font families are listed.

Also, in your example, Adobe Garamond Pro is listed under "G" not under "A".
