Sean,

Can’t help with the status bar problem, but the Search function is down until the new forum changes settle. They’re working on solving the performance issues of the forum, including some new hardware. Once that’s solved, they’ll get to the Search and enable it.

In regards to the status bar, I doubt it’s a bug – it’s something user specific or we would have been hearing a lot of screaming about it in the forum.

Try this. Have no documents open. Turn on the Status Bar (Window|Status Bar). Close Photoshop. Now open PS again – is is still there?

I’ll have to wait until it disapears again. I closed PS, deleted the prefs and it stayed. I dunno what the deal is….

Next time I launch PS and it’s not there, I’ll try what you said and get back to you.

It’s my impression that the missing status bar happens most often after using Tab to hide palettes and not bringing them back before closing. Just tried closing PS6 with palettes Tabbed, then reopening: the window appeared with the status bar at the bottom, then the status bar vanished and the other palettes popped up.

Richard,

That could be it. I do hide the palettes a lot.

Ok, I did what Robert said and it did just as he said it would. So therefore, the status bar was hidden. With nothing opened I opted for the status bar and close PS. When I opened PS again it was there. I guess you nailed Tony.

Cool Beans! Actually I found out about it from trying to get a default Soft Proof Profile and you do that exactly the same way.

Glad you got it sorted.

Thanks – I’ll give this a try when I get home tonight (my computer at work doesn’t do it).
