Occasionally I look through my hard drive directory listings. [yes PSCS2 continues to reset itself (with regularity) even after 1+ years. I found a lot of empty folders here:

"C:\Documents and Settings\mycomputer\local Settings\Temp\Adobelm_Cleanup.0001.dir.0000" through .dir.00263

..dir.0259 has several ~.TMP .csa and .pfd files all of them are dated yesterday 1/22/2007. This was the day when PSCS2 reset it self back to default settings. I had to back and tell it to use the external J:\ drive, mouse roller wheel, and pixels, and to dock all the pallets on the left monitor.

Question is: Is there a menu item to tell PSCS2 to delete the several hundred empty cleanup folders ? Or is it ok to manually delete all but number .dir.0259 (looks like PSCS2 settings)?

Shouldn’t PSCS2 do this house cleaning by itself ?

Yep. Have you been having crashes or shutting down without turning the program off? That’s the usual cause of temp files.

If Photoshop is not running, then you should be able to safely delete all the tmp files. If it is running, it will complain that one of them is in use.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do shut down PSCS2 when I am not using it, and certainly before we power down. But OK. I will now delete all those folders. Maybe that will improve PSCS2’s wierd ‘reset’ issue.
