David,
If the "blog site" is designed strictly as that and offers nothing in the way of file upload capability, I don’t know the answer to your question. Otherwise, if does support uploading, then just upload the directory containing your gallery and add a link in your blog to the starting page of the gallery.
Regards,
Daryl
I think in theory (haven’t tried this) you could embed the Gallery in a Frame and actually display it in the page. I’d do some research and maybe ask the people hosting the blogs how to do this.
If nothing else you can always upload it to a server that you have access to and link to it from the Blog.
The ability to do this all depends on your "Blog Site". The answer would range from "Of course you can! You can do anything you want!" if you host your own blog to "Not a chance" if you have MySpace. This all depends on your blog. All blog sites are different and therefore they all allow (or don’t allow) certain things. If you’re hosting your own blog or you have your own web hosting, you can simply upload the final output of the Web Photo Gallery onto your web server and link to it from an iFrame like Ed Hannigan suggested. Or if you can link to external resources, you can copy/paste the HTML code into your blog. The key there is to make sure all the scripting files are linked (photos.js, etc.)
Anyway, a little more detail on what type of blog you have would help us give a better answer.
The site I use is Blogger.com. Since this is all new to me, I really don’t know the diffences with other sites.
Hi,
I have created a photo gallery using WEB PHOTO GALLERY and I have my own site hosted by yahoo….Question : which files need to be linked to the webpage?
Ian, did you develope your web site yourself? Was it difficult?
Thanks!
No not at all, it was real easy…….
Sorry to be so late but maybe my info will help someone even after all this time.
All blogs are not the same.
To start with, there are those that offer free space and software (often proprietary) for creating blogs. Their business model relies on revenue from Pay Per Click ads (such as Google AdSense and others). You would have to ask such a service if they allow galleries and how to install them using their software.
Then there are blogs where you get your own domain name and find a hosting company that offers Open Source blogging sotware. You pay for your own domain name and hosting space. Look for a host that provides a complete package, such as cPanel, that also includes roughly 3 dozen of so free software apps under the name "Fantastico." That package usally offer three or four blogging softwares, (WordPress, Drupal, etc.) along with free CMS software (Content Management Systems) from 6 or 7 packages (Joomla, Mamabo, Nuke, etc.) that let you create complex, fully integrated web sites that include forums, galleries, newsletters, etc, all in one integrated packsge.
The most popular, and in my opinion, most advanced and best supported blog sftware is WordPress. When you visit the WP web site you will find links to all kinds of plug-ins and other tools, some of which facilitate installing photo galleries into your posts. There are also many free WP themes of skins or templates (people call them by different names) that are easy to install. Some include gallery plugins already installed. You also can integrate with online galleries such as Flicker or YouTube,
An example of simple in-post galleries and a customized version of a free WP theme can be seen at www.sprangleblog.com. It’s my own blog, including mini-photo-albums within select posts, of a recent trip to Australia, Thailand and India. In the menu I credit the various image posting plug-ins that were used.
A link to the WordPress site is at the foor of the above pages.
Hope the above helps.
Hello ….please can you help on a similar topic.
I have created my web gallery and all the files and folders (images, thumbs etc) have been put in one folder which i have named GALLERY. This is currently located on my desk top.
I have designed a web site using MS Publisher www.studio143.co.uk and have a page on there where i would like to add my gallery/galleries.
Do i put my named folder GALLERY in to the FTP server area where my Index.html files are (my current web site)? And if so – how do i then link the GALLERY files to the correct web page – Do i use a hyper link ? And if so could you guide me step by step for someone who is very new at this. Eg HYPER should be www.studio143.co.uk/index.html/gallery ?????
Please help
Thanks
Heather

I was assuming Photoshop produced a file called ‘index.html’.
Since you do not have such a file, you will want to change your link to: <
http://www.studio143.co.uk/Gallery/Gallery.htm>
If you really uploaded the gallery files to the place you claim, the link I posted here should work. It doesn’t right now.
Heather,
and put the sub GALLERY golder in the FTP server section<<
You haven’t uploaded the Gallery folder to your server – there is no /Gallery directory on
http://www.studio143.co.uk/ The only files I can see on that server are a directory called sitebuildercontent/ and a sub-directory
sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/
There are no actual files in either of those directories

It now works with the middle ‘gallery’ reinserted 🙂 I take it you fixed it.
